Seven Little Lambs and the Warmest Spot on the Farm
Some mornings on the farm begin quietly, with the kind of damp cold that settles into your bones before the sun has a chance to chase it away. On those mornings, the wood heater becomes the heart of something special - a small, glowing promise of comfort.
My rescued lambs know this better than anyone.
Wrapped in their little “cardigans,” it didn’t take them long to realise that inside the shearing shed was a surprisingly pleasant place to be. In one compact corner sat the wood heater, all aglow, offering a gentle reprieve from the crisp air outside.
Vying for the best position, they soon settled into a snug, sprawling bundle of joy - faces soft, eyes half‑closed, blinking slowly as the warmth wrapped around them.
Outside, the paddocks were frosty.
Inside, seven tiny bodies soaked up every bit of heat they could find.
No rush, no noise, no fuss. Just quiet moments of togetherness - the kind that happen naturally when animals feel safe, warm, and close to each other.
These are the moments that shape Lambies: the real, tender, everyday magic of rescue life. Not staged or managed - just honest innocent souls finding comfort in the simplest places.
And honestly, if you had a wood heater and six friends who loved you this much, you’d sit there all day too.
